Hope Wood of Norman died at Norman Regional Hospital on Monday, July 22, a victim of cancer. She was 64.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Union City United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Union City cemetery, under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home of El Reno.
The daughter of Leonard and Mary True Wood, she was born at Alex on Oct. 5, 1926. The family later moved to Union City, where she graduated from high school. After graduating from Oklahoma College for Women, she taught home economics in the El Reno, Pocasset and Norman Public Schools Systems. She retired in 1983, after 35 years of service.
Survivors include her sister, Berniece Tate of Union City; a niece, Terry Kelley; her nephew, Clay Tate; three grandnieces and a grand nephew. Miss Wood is also survived by her fiance, Joe Rolette of Norman.
The family has suggested the memorial fund at the Union City United Methodist Church as appropriate for memorial contributions.
