Memorial services for Hazel Beulah Williams, 87, Norman who died
Sunday in Norman Regional Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday
in McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev, Phil
Fenn officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetary under the
direction of Mayes Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 19, 1904 in Macksburg, Iowa. She
moved to Norman in 1920. She was 1922 graduate of Norman High
School, received her bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma
in 1926 and her master's degree in Math in 1930.
She taught math at Norman high school for 22 years.
She was a member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, the
Builders Sunday school class and the United Methodist Women. She also
was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Norman retired Teachers
Association, Alpha XI Delta, Kappa Phi and the Norman Regional Hospital
Auxiliary.
The Ferguson Williams Scholarship was named in her honor.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathryn Broach and her husband, Bill
of Zienna, Va. and Janice Archer and her husband, Don of Conroe, Texas;
four grandchildren, Katie Onstot of Bluemont, Va., and LaDona, Mike and
Dianna Archer, all of Conroe, Texas; one great grandson, Brian Onstot of
Bluemont, Va.; and a sister, Louise Norris of Norman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Williams in 1948.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oklahoma Medical research
Foundation.
