Services are pending for Martha Mitchell, 46, Route 1, with
Primrose Funeral Home. She died today at her home.
Mrs. Mitchell taught business courses at Norman High
School for approximatey 20 years. She had taught one year
at Noble.
July 4, 1982
Services for Martha Mitchell, 46, Route1, will be at 10:30
a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis
Wiginton officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetary.
Mitchell died Friday at her home.
Primrose Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mitchell taught business at Norman High School for the
past 21 years.
She was born Oct. 17, 1935 in Kenneth, Mo. She was a
charter member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Vita Sunday
School class. She attended McAlester and Norman High School,
graduating from Norman. After receiving a degree in education at
the University of Oklahoma, she taught school for a year at Noble.
Survivors include her husband, Newton "Newt" of the home,
two sons, Scottie and Newton Jr., both of Norman; her father,
Preslie Brown of McAlester; her mother, Lynis Brown of Norman;
and a sister, Doris Jean Huckley of McAlester.
Bearers wills be Leroy Barnes, Dr. Hal Belknap, Lynn Foreman,
Lyndol Hall, Benton Ladd, Gary McConnell, Allan Morain and
Bill Rogers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
