Buford K. "B. K." Shaw, 76, norman, died Tuesday, July 29, in Norman.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Primrose Chapel, with Russ Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Norman IOOF Cemetery,
under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.
He was born April 21, 1921, in Bryant, to William and Ruth Shaw. He graduated from Henryetta High School. He married Edna Hart on July 21, 1944, in Jacksonville, N.C.
He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1960, after receiving numerous honors, including the Korean Presidential Citation, United Nations Service,
Korean Service, American Theater, Asian-Pacific Campaign with Two Stars, World War II Victory, China Service, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation with Star, Marine Corps Good Conduct with Five Stars.
He retired from a teaching career in 1984.
Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Edna; two sons, B.K. Shaw II and his wife Louella, and Walter Franklin Shaw and his wife, Karyl, all
of Norman; three sisters, Billie Ruth and her husband, Troy Drennan of Norman; Elsie Lee Shaw of California, and Rusha Fay Burke of
Oklahoma City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Jim Hart, Sandy Erwin, David Erwin, Walter Erwin, Ken Anderson and Loyd Thionnet. Honorary bearers will be
? Wheeler, Jack Harmon, Norris Griffith, Pat Garrison and Jim Bruehl.
Memorials may be made to Norman Senior Citizens, or to the American Heart Association.
