Alice Anson Belknap Robinson, 92, died Jan. 10 in Norman
Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday
at First Presbyterian Church.
The daughter of pioneer parents, Harriett (Spottswood) and
John Franklin Belknap, Mrs. Robinson was born May 11, 1906
in Norman. A graduate of Norman High School and the
University of Oklahoma, she taught English and home
economics in high schools in Gould, Deer Creek and Fairfax
for seven years before marrying John H.(Jack) Robinson in
1932. After living in Fairfax for 10 years, they moved to Guthrie.
In 1953, they came back to Norman, where she taught English
in Norman High School until her retirement in 1971. Her husband
was supervisor of the electrical engineering laboratories at OU
for 20 years. She was a member of Cleveland County Retired
Teachers Association and the state association, a 75 year
member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, a member of Chapter
AY, PEO, Guthrie, and of First Presbyterian Church, Norman,
where she served as deacon and worked at the thrift shop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Sally
Robinson, PhD; her sister, Gwendolyn Meek; and her brother,
Harold Belknap of Norman.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Earl and Jane
Hutchins of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her son, James Robinson III
of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Kimberleigh Hutchins of
Los Angeles, Calif., Brian Hutchins of Escondido, Calif., Todd
Hutchins of Greeley, Co., Matt Hutchins of Seattle, Wash.,
Beth Robinson Maye of Oklahoma City and James M. Robinson
IV of Tampa, Fla.; two great grandchildren, Jessica and John Maye
of Oklahoma city; and several neices and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Stroke

112 or to charity of the donor's choice.
