Phillip Ray Noah, 62, of Norman, OK died Friday, April 3, 2009, in Norman after a long illness as a result of several health issues. Services will be held at Havenbrook Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy Holbrook officiating. Interment will be in Wellston Cemetery, Wellston, OK.
Phillip was born August 13, 1946 in Norman, OK. He served in the U.S. Army, 26th Infantry Division, during the Viet Nam War. While in Viet Nam he was wounded and received the Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal. There are several stories written about Phillip in a book entitled," Blue Spaders of Viet Nam -- 26th Infantry Division" by Carl Bradfield, his sergeant.
After returning from Viet Nam he returned to Norman High School and received his high school diploma.
Phillip owned and operated his own plumbing business, Noah's Plumbing -- Heating Company of Norman for over 20 years.
Survivors include his wife and dear friend, Marion Noah, three children, Phillip Ray Noah II, Dustin Frank Noah and Angela Noah; two grandchildren, Austin Rhea and Courtney Rhea; two sisters, Brenda Diane Noah of Norman and Janet Gail Farmer of Jacksonville, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reldon Ray Noah Jr., Lela Mabel Davis; and brother, Timothy Mark Noah.
