Gale R. Taylor, 44, Norman, died Tuesday, May 30, 1995 at the Norman Regional Hospital, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Mayes Chapel of Remembrance. The Rev. Elza Boldman will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Billy R. Huff. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery, with Mayes Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 12, 1951, at Oklahoma City, to Roy Daniel and Juanitta Holt Taylor. He moved to Norman with his family when he was 4 years old and graduated from Norman High School in 1969.
He worked as a clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and worked for General Motors from 1977 to 1989, when illness forced his retirement. He was a member of MacArthur Free Methodist Church.
He married Angeline Allen on Dec. 30, 1975 at Norman.
He was preceded in death by his father and by a daughter, Elaine.
He is survived by his wife, Angeline, of the home; a daughter,, Juanita Taylor of the home; two stepdaughters, Anna Allen of Enid and Sherie Allen of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Dewayne, Devin, Magen, Danielle and Galeand; and by his mother Juanitta Taylor of Norman.
Bearers wil be Mike Baggett, Jim Buttonhoff, Wayne Allen, Rick Allen, Kevin Turner, Michael Shindler, Harry Stoddard and Tony Cooper.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Society of America Inc., Oklahoma Chapter, 9520 N. May Ave., Suite 260, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
