Cynthia "Cindi" Lea Wampler, lifelong resident of Norman, died at Norman Regional Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 25, 1993. She was 42.
Services are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday in Mayes Chapel of Remembrance, with the Rev. Russ Martin officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, under the direction of Mayes Funeral Directors.
The daughter of Gene and Maymie Hayes Stansberry, she was born Jan. 17, 1951, at Norman, where she graduated from high school in 1969 and attended the University of Oklahoma.
A Licensed Practical Nurse, she completed LPN studied at Moore Norman Area Co-Tech Center from 1974-75. From 1975-82, she was employed at Norman Municipal Hospital and for the past 11 years, Mrs. Wampler had been an LPN at Griffin Memorial Hospital.
She married Greg Wampler at Norman on May 28, 1975. He survives her at their home.
Mrs. Wampler attended New Life Bible Church, but also had been a member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1960.
She played the piano and flute and also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and reading in her spare time.
Other survivors include her parents, Gene and Maymie of Norman; her son Sam of Norman; her daughters Charm Abercrombie Eakhrshafaer of Oklahoma City, and Beth of Norman; her brother Randall of Norman; her sister Carol Jewell of Norman and several nieces and nephews.
Ken Vowell, Darrell Rhodes, Marc Finger, Ted Sahler, John Howell, Rick Ratliff and Larry Miller will serve as bearers.
The family has suggested New Life Bible Church, 1401 W. Boyd, Norman 73069, as appropriate for memorial contributions.
Friends may call at Mayes Funeral Home until 9 tonight.
