Connie Potts Marsh

November 21, 1950 - May 24, 2009







On May 24th, 2009, our precious Connie's journey on earth ended peacefully while surrounded by her family and friends. Her memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m., May 27, 2009 at the Crutcho Baptist Church. Officiating the memorial will be Rick Belicek and Bill Blair. Connie was born in San Bernardino, California to Joel and Mary Potts. They moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 1966 and Connie attended Norman High School where she met her one and only love, Rodney Marsh, at a school dance. The two married February 13, 1969 and have remained hopelessly in love for 40 amazing years. During those years, they were blessed with two precious and loving daughters, Annie and Dawn Michelle. Connie had a generous heart, was known for her loyalty to family and her strong work ethic.Connie worked at the infamous restaurant known simply as The Grill which she later owned and operated with her husband Rodney. They later relocated to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico for several years where Connie managed the Italian Cafe on base. In 2006, Connie and Rodney returned to their hometown of Norman, Oklahoma to spend their "Rocking Years" together with the family they longed to return too.Connie was a strong faith filled family woman who cared deeply for her loved ones. She always placed her husband and children's needs above all else.She was preceded in death by her parents Joel and Mary Potts and Lucy, her very special pet.She is survived by her husband Rodney, daughters Annie and husband Dennis Davis, and Dawn Michelle Marsh, all from Norman. Siblings include Lonnie Potts and Robin Potts of Norman, Jody Potts and wife Charlotte of Waldron, Arkansas, Tommy Potts and wife Tonya of Norman, Pamela Keeler and husband Kevin of Haughton, Louisiana, and 18 nieces and nephews. Connie was blessed with 4 grandsons that will miss her greatly. They are Nick Morrison of Norman, T.J. Russell of Yukon, Alex Morrison of Norman and R.J. Kinison of home, lovingly known as his little rock house.She was cremated and her ashes were scattered on her parents grave.
