January 7, 1951 ~ May 26, 2012 (age 61) Brynda Ewing ( Ralls), a long-time resident of Norman, OK, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Noble, OK at the age of 61. She was born Brynda Ralls on January 7, 1951 in Norman, OK to Wilmer and Meladene Ralls. She attended school in Lubbock, TX and Norman, OK. Brynda is survived by her husband, Ira Ewing of the home; brother, Michael Ralls and his wife Deborah of Olathe, KS; sister, Debra Cox and her husband Joseph Cox of Oklahoma City; grandson, George Shaeffer of San Tan Valley, AZ; nieces, Tammy Roberts, Brandi Ralls, Alexandra Cox and Victoria Cox, nephews, Steven Ralls and Jonathan Ralls; great-nieces, Kayla Sullivan, Madison Sullivan, and great-nephew, Forrest Ralls and many more relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, son, Merle Dewayne Coke and daughter, Valerie Shaeffer. Brynda and Ira married in 2000 after spending many years apart but having known each other since they were children. Brynda held numerous occupations throughout her life including waitress, cook, home health aide, nurses’ aide, taxi cab dispatcher, and school bus driver. She was an avid reader of mystery novels, enjoyed solving word search puzzles, eating at Red Lobster, attending arts festivals and spending time with her family, friends and cherished cats (her “girls”). Brynda never met a stranger and had a smile for everyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank Brynda’s numerous health care workers who always made time for her.
