Services for Edith Cavell Hawk, 60, 125 S. Pickard Ave., were
today in McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr.
Jack Featherston officiating. Burial was in Erin Springs Cemetery
near Lindsay with Mayes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She died Saturday in Norman Municipal Hospital after a
brief illness.
Born Aug. 13, 1917, in Erin Springs, Mrs. Hawk moved to Norman
in 1920 and had been a school secretary with the Norman Public
Schools for 22 years. She was a member of McFarlin Memorial
United Methodist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Decker of the home; a daughter, Mrs.
Donald R (Judy) Den Daas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son,
Richard D. of Altus; two sisters, Mrs. Lahoma Friedlander of
504 Clearview and Mrs. Leta Bard of Tulsa; and a grandson, David
Den Daas of Colorado Springs.
Bearers were Copy Groom, Jack Bard, David Hawk, Bill Ryan,
Jimmy Long and Roger Ryan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cavell Hawk Memorial
Fund at the Norman Muncipal Hospital.
