Services for Mickey Isobel Hargrave Herron, 74, Norman, are
scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, at the First United Methodist
Church in Wewoka, with Justice Rudolph Hargrave and the Rev.
Wayne Parker officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery, under
the direction of Primrose Funeral Home.
Mrs. Herron died Tuesday, April 28, in Norman.
She was born Aug. 5, 1923 in Shawnee, the daughter of John
Hubert and Daisy Jane Holmes Hargrave. She had lived in the
Norman area since 1961. and had been a teacher for the Norman
Public School system. She taught at McKinley Elementary
School, was a counselor at Central Junior High, and was a
principal at Lincoln, Cleveland and Monroe schools. She also
had lived and taught in Eretrea, Ethiopa and Africa. Mrs. Herron
was past president of the Norman Classroom Teachers association,
administrative representative to PEN, and was a member of the
Oklahoma Education Association. She also was a member of the
Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, a member of the AAUW and the
American Legion Auxiliary.
She is urvived by two sons, Jack Herron Jr. of Duncan and Joe
Craig Herron of Fort Leavenworth, Kan; two daughters, Jan Moore
of Midwest City and Jeanne Cindy Odgers of Glendale, Ariz.; a
brother, Justice Rudoplh Hargrave of Wewoka; 12 grandchildren;
and Jack Herron Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
