James Robert (Jimmy) Baker, 82, died Wednesday, June 23, in Norman. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the DeArman Funeral Home Chapel in Wynnewood with Brother Stan Warfield officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home.

Mr. Baker was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Wynnewood, to Robert Lee Baker and Rose Branham Baker.

He attended Wynnewood Public Schools and, after graduating from high school, married Jeneva Dale Patton March 19, 1942, in Lake Charles, La. Later that spring, he joined the U.S. Air Force. At the end of World War II, he and his wife returned to Norman where he received his B.S. degree in biology and physical education.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Jeneva; his son, Bill and his wife, Carol, of Sherman, Texas; and three grandsons, Adam, Micah and Jesse Baker.
